The basis is a handle size 9, in this case made of lacquered bubinga wood. In addition to the attractive appearance, this offering good protection against the ingress of moisture. However, the real highlight is the for opening of oysters produced specifically, only 6.5 cm long but 2.2 mm thick blade, made of modified stainless 12C27 Sandvik steel. Please note here is that, for loosening of the sphincter of the oyster, the blade is ground only at the top approximately 1.5 cm. The rest of the blade is dull and can thus be used as a lever to open. As a real Opinel has this model on the known Virobloc system that locks the blade open reliably.
